Dear AWC family,
I hope you are enjoying the recent fabulous weather in Seoul! The month of May has gifted us with incredible temperatures, clear skies and a full slate of AWC Korea activities as we look toward summer.
Summer tends to be a bittersweet season for our group, as we bid farewell to dear members who are moving on to their next chapters. As we say “bye for now,” we also want to recognize the difference these members have made in our lives and for our group. Our AWC members keep our community strong, and we are beyond grateful for the gifts, talents and spirit that each member brings to the table.
This year, we especially celebrate the contributions of time, energy and enthusiasm from several outgoing AWC Korea board and committee members, including Anna Durmus, Liz Nightingale, Ellen Stiefvater, Heather Aumann, Judy Kim and Michelle Morrison. Please join us on June 7 for a happy hour at Vineworks, where we’ll toast the work these women have done and wish them well in their onward journeys.
As we look toward June, we hope you’ll join us for an activity before taking off on your summer trips. See below for more details on the Vineworks happy hour, our regular coffee morning and our book club’s “year-end” luncheon.
And as you set off on your journeys, whether short or long: I hope you find the rest and rejuvenation that you need, joy from time spent with family and friends at “home,” and the wonder of visiting or discovering new places. Don’t forget to look around, take a breath and enjoy the moment; the years go fast.
In community,
Betty Chung
AWC Korea President
