Dear AWC Friends,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season with friends and family, far and near. As we approach 2024, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and healthy New Year filled with good health, joy and blessings.
As I reflect on the past year with AWC, I am so proud of our community, including our membership, the nearly 100 events and activities we’ve offered and the new relationships that have been inspired. As a community, we’ve created opportunities for women across Korea to build community and connectivity, forge friendships and find a sense of belonging.
AWC’s Board and leadership have a shared purpose: We value and are grateful for our community. We take pride in fostering a culture that embraces and welcomes all members in order to create a sense of “family” in our home away from home — helping women looking for sisterhood to find connection.
At the center of our AWC mission is our focus on philanthropy and giving back to our local host community. AWC’s annual charity gala is our hallmark fundraising event. The upcoming New Year’s Gala will take place Jan. 13 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, with proceeds supporting four organizations:
We’ve sold more than 325 gala tickets so far. To catch one of the few remaining tickets, please RSVP by Jan. 4. (Details and links below.)
I would like to sincerely thank our AWC Board and Gala Committee for dedicating countless hours to volunteering and for giving your hearts to serving our community. A huge shout out as well to all of our Gala sponsors and donors who have graciously provided financial support, goods and/or services to make the Gala a meaningful event.
Lastly, a thank you and my New Year’s wish for all of our AWC members: That we can continue to be kind to ourselves, each other and our Earth. Together, we make a meaningful community.
Happy New Year,
Betty Chung
AWC Korea President
